Client Snapshot

The client is a US-based manufacturer of premium bath and body care products focused on wellness and personal care. The product range includes bath salts, body salt scrubs, incense, essential oils, fragrance oils, handmade soaps, and skincare items. They manage product catalog through BigCommerce and sell across major marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, and Etsy. They manufacture over 18,000 products, and we optimized more than 6,000 of Amazon listings to ensure accurate, consistent, and well-organized product information across platforms, helping support business growth.

We helped a professional bath and body manufacturer fix and reorganize over 6,000 Amazon listings that were affected by UPC conflicts, suppressed listings, and incorrect ASIN links. Over time, their Amazon catalog had become disorganized due to multiple providers managing it, which caused confusion and prevented new products from launching. Through a complete catalog audit and restructuring process, we corrected listing errors, resolved conflicts, and aligned all listings with BigCommerce master catalog. This gave the client a clean and well-organized Amazon catalog, making it easier to manage products and grow business.

The Situation

While the BigCommerce master store was well managed, Amazon catalog had become disorganized and difficult to control.

With more than 6,000 wellness products marketplace management was critical. During the beginning period, client used multiple freelancers and third-party providers, but Amazon catalog listing structure became inconsistent, fragmented, and increasingly difficult to control. Amazon should have been a major growth channel. Instead, it became a source of operational stress.

They needed a reliable partner to restore order, accuracy, and scalability. The client faced several serious catalog issues, including:

  • Hundreds of listings were suppressed due to policy violations
  • SKUs and UPCs did not match BigCommerce master catalog and Amazon listing
  • UPC conflicts affecting order management
  • Products were incorrectly linked to unrelated Amazon listings
  • Wrong images appeared on product pages
  • Some listings showed incorrect product details
  • Certain products were wrongly flagged under restricted compliance categories
  • New product launches were blocked due to unresolved catalog conflicts

Even worse, some bath and body care products were connected to completely different product types already existing in Amazon’s catalog, causing customer confusion and damaging brand credibility.

This led to:

  • Wrong product associations
  • Image mismatches
  • ASIN errors
  • Listing restrictions
  • Operational confusion in internal tracking

Additionally:

  • Some products failed to publish even when the client was the sole seller
  • Certain ASINs were incorrectly flagged under regulatory categories (e.g., pesticide compliance)
  • Previously deleted UPCs continued to create listing conflicts
  • New product launches were also stalled due to catalog limitations and unresolved technical errors.

The client was losing control over own product catalog. They needed a complete catalog rebuild, not just minor fixes.

What we Did:

Complete Catalog Restructuring and Optimization

We used a structured process to fix and rebuild the Amazon catalog and make sure all bath and body care products were listed correctly and matched the BigCommerce catalog.

Step 1: Full Catalog Audit

We conducted a deep audit of all 6,000 bath and body care listings and identified:

  • Suppressed listings
  • Incorrect product mappings
  • UPC and SKU conflicts
  • Listings not matched with BigCommerce master data

This helped us clearly understand what needed to be fixed.

Step 2: Restoring Catalog Accuracy

We realigned Amazon listings with the BigCommerce master catalog by:

  • Matching SKUs across both platforms
  • Resolving UPC conflicts
  • Assigning new UPCs where necessary
  • Correcting wrongly mapped products

This restored internal tracking accuracy.

Step 3: Fixing Broken Listings and Product Identity

We corrected major catalog errors, including:

  • Products linked to wrong ASINs
  • Incorrect product categories
  • Image mismatches
  • Variant structure errors

We worked directly with Amazon support, i.e We opened and managed multiple Amazon support cases to resolve catalog conflicts and to detach incorrect product associations and rebuild listings correctly.

Step 4: Compliance and Suppressed Listing Recovery

Many bath and body care listings were suppressed due to compliance issues.

We resolved this by:

  • Updating product content
  • Fixing policy violations
  • Removing incorrect regulatory flags
  • Reinstating affected listings

Several ASINs incorrectly categorized under restricted compliance were escalated and resolved through:

  • Support tickets
  • Internal team follow-ups
  • Live case handling

This restored product visibility.

Step 5: Standardizing Images and Variants

We ensured Amazon listings matched the BigCommerce master store by:

  • Updating correct product images
  • Standardizing variant structures
  • Resolved image conflicts linked to shared UPCs

This improved customer experience and trust.

Step 6: Lead Time & Listing Consistency

  • Corrected lead time mismatches
  • Aligned listing data across platforms

Help to ensure consistent representation across Amazon and BigCommerce

Step 7: Enabling Future Growth

We ensured new products could be launched smoothly by

  • Implementing clean catalog structure
  • Eliminating UPC conflicts
  • Creating scalable listing processes
